Campinas places to go - Steam locomotives

Since 1984, ABPF makes rides aboard touristic/cultural trains with steam locomotives between the cities of Campinas and Jaguariúna. On a 15 miles circuit, with six train stations, the train runs a region off old coffee farms and the plantation culture. By the fact of being the biggest Dynamic Railway Museum of Brazil and owning a rich collection of historic railway material, the circuit has been used as location for many soap-operas (Terra Nostra, Sinhá Moça, Cabloca and others), for movies and advertising productions. The train ride is an excellent option for fun. It is one of the last Steam Locomotive´s ride in Brazil . The train is conservated with monitors that explain how it works. The course goes from Anhumas Train Station (in the city of Campinas) and goes to the city of Jaguariúna with lots of beatiful nature sites, old farms... it really stop the time and goes back to the brazilian plantantion culture past. The monitors tell you about the region... it is a good history class. The train stops in the Tanquinho Station where they explain how it work the steam locomotive. Also, it is show one old telephone that works with a handle
